Students continue to learn about their personal safety and the rules, rights and their responsibilities which will help to keep them safe. They will learn about their private body parts and body ownership to promote their health, safety and well-being. Daniel Morcombe Lessons 3 & 4 |
Making decisions and using Strategies
The children will contribute to and predict the consequences of group decisions in a range of situations and identify a range of conflict resolution strategies to negotiate positive outcomes to problems. Daniel Morcombe Lessons 5 & 6 |
Safety
Helping the students to persist with tasks when faced with challenges and adapt their approach where first attempts are not successful. Teach the students to apply standard guidelines and take action to avoid the common dangers to personal security when using ICT and apply appropriate basic social protocols when using ICT to communicate with unknown audiences. Year 4
A Vision for a Happy Classroom
Students learn to communicate and interact for health and wellbeing by describing how respect, empathy and valuing difference can positively influence relationships. They investigate how emotional responses vary in depth and strength and explore strategies to manage physical, social and emotional change. |
Healthy Eating
Students examine their own eating patterns by researching The Australian Guide to Healthy Eating and identifying healthier food choices. They analyse the contents of their own lunchbox and plan a healthy lunch box that meets the criteria set out in The Australian Guide to Healthy Eating. |
Active and Healthy Communities
Students participate in outdoor games and physical activities (including Dance Fever) that support personal and community health and well-being. They investigate ways in which the local government promotes a healthy and active community through parks and programs such as Active School Travel. |
Valuing Diversity
Students recognise the change in attitudes over time towards difference and diversity. They consider their own heritage and explore strategies that value difference. |
